I've recently finished another c-drama. LOL. Well I heard great reviews about the web novel on which it was based on and knowing that it came from the production company who brought us Boss and Me, I was eager to at least check it out. That and the fact that I'm rather fond of both leads, Tang Yan and Wallace Chung. It's a weird experience in that I can clearly identify that it's very much lacking, but I still compulsively watched it till the end.

Review: Boss and Me 杉杉來了
It’s been ages since I’ve blogged on anything but in no way
does it mean that I have stopped watching dramas. To be honest, nothing much
really made me crazy for the past few months and as usual real life always take
precedence. That’s that but my interest have been revived the past weeks with
goodies like Joseon Gunman and Fated to Love You being utterly winning in
different ways. Everyone who started reading this site knew of The Princess Man’s
recaps so there’s no way in hell I would have missed out on Joseon Gunman – I have
that much faith in the production. And with names like Lee Jun Ki and Nam Sang
Mi thrown into the mix, I wouldn’t miss this for the world. I’m one of many who
saw the original FTLY but admittedly I lost interest in that one midway and had
to force myself to complete it then. Jang Hyuk’s maniac laugh takes some
getting used to but I would say the show as a whole totally channels a
different vibe, and in a good way. Jang Na-ra is so endearing that it’s not
hard to connect with her Kim Mi-young right off the bat.
I also took some time to check out offerings from other countries
since I have the time at present and hola – Boss
and Me is my latest favourite drama from China. To date, I have only
completed one modern drama from China
(and not for lack of trying) and that is Rent
a Girlfriend Home for New Year. But as of now, Boss and Me would totally replace that drama as the best cdrama
yet, for me of course. This 33-episode drama was adapted from a web novel and stars
Zhao Li Ying and Hans Zhang. I have never read the novel so I have no
expectation whatsoever but I really really adore this drama as a standalone.

Unemployment Romance : End of series review
I've delayed this post for some time (the drama ended last Saturday) because the last episode just rubs me in the wrong way. I doubt there's more I can say (or rant) about the Unemployed Romance that I haven't done in my Dramafever posts, so I've decided to extract my own excerpts from episode 4 to 10 (the first three is covered in my recaps) for anyone who cares to read how I feel about the drama but couldn't be bothered to stop over at DF. I omitted inputs from fellow bloggers because they aren't mine to be begin with but links are provided to those interested in other bloggers' take on the drama.
Review: TEN 2
I love procedurals and watched both TEN and Vampire Prosecutor for both seasons. While VP had an added supernatural flavour which gives it extra spice, I'm actually a leeeetle bit fonder of the TEN series. I started off with VP then got enticed by the promotional ads for TEN during the commercial breaks of VP...and the rest is history. Both series had strong, sexy, broody male leads and a supporting cast of colourful personalities. And because this is a review on TEN, I shall try to limit my discussion to the cast of TEN.

Gushing over Legend of Lu Zhen 陆贞传奇
I'm still on a hiatus from recapping, but being a drama addict means staying away from dramas would probably leave terribly lonely and lost. I'm watching a couple of Kdramas - Mandate of heaven and You're the best, Lee Soon Shim. MOH has the ingredients for a pretty good sageuk, which in my dictionary, just needs to be engaging. On the other hand, YTBLSS has a charming feel to it even if the storylines are cliches and nothing to shout about. Jo Jung Suk is adorable with a capital A here with IU and totally worth my adulation since he made me a fan in What's Up. For me, he's the biggest draw in the drama...and I would admit to FF through all the birth secrets stuff to skip the boring part.
Currently, my biggest guilty pleasure is actually c-drama Legend of Lu Zhen (also known as Female Prime Minister).
Review: Quick (Korean Movie)
While
waiting for Chilling Romance to be available, I decided to watch Lee Min Ki’s
other movie release for this year – Quick. Yes, if you haven’t notice by now, I’m
a major fan of Min Ki. There’s something about his awkwardness that really
appeals to me. And of course, he was so so dashing in Dalja’s Spring. In a
promotional interview, his co-star Sohn Ye Jin (Chilling Romance) mentioned
that Min Ki is a hit among noonas because he seems to elicit their motherly
instincts. Not necessarily how I feel
but I’m glad he’s getting lotsa love in showbiz.

Review: Scent of a Woman (KDrama)
Phew. I finally finished the drama today. I’ve been meaning to…especially since I’ve been watching it along with The Princess’ Man for the most part of its run.
Review: Love Waking Up (爱情睡醒了)
After taking on two tear-jearkers in The Princess' Man and Bu bu Jin Xin (步步惊心), I'm mentally exhausted and decided to randomly pick something light and fluffy to watch.
By chance, I came upon another C-Drama called Love Waking Up (爱情睡醒了). It's actually a remake of the famous 2005 taiwan drama, The Prince Who Turns Into A Frog (王子變青蛙) starring Joe Chen and Ming Dao. However, for whatever reason, I never did watch that drama when it was hugely popular and so I figured that this is as good a time as any to give this drama a try. Being a remake, I had no expectations at all and was just hoping for some brainless fun(I always feel that remakes almost always fail to live up to the classics).
