Ugly Alert / Bravo My life - if you're into dailies

I've just caught the "dailies" bug and I'm not talking about contact lenses. I've watched like maybe 3 korean dailies in my not-so-short memory...the first is Pure 19 which starred Gu Hye Sun in her pre-BBF days where she was actually adorable and I actually liked her character. Everything she starred in post BBF didn't appeal to me. Anyway, that was an accident - I bought the VCD not realizing it was only part I (about 50 episodes). Silly me. I never made it past that though I did watch edited scenes of her and So Ji-suk as a happily married couple for the last 20 episodes maybe.

Next is I Live In Cheong Dam Dong, which I gobbled up within 2 weeks I believe...yup...all 170 episodes of it. And I join many others in recommending this sweet gem. Anyway, blinded by my love for Im Joo Hwan whom I adore beyond words since he charmed my socks off in Tamra, the island, I downloaded the first few episodes of Ugly Alert (previously known as Bravo My Life) just to check out his first drama post-army. And just like that, I was hooked.

Recap: What's Up Episode 17

Some sweet moments between the OTPs and What’s Up, the musical is slowly taking shape…I'm putting Do-sung's picture here...just cause he's been an absolute darling.

Recap: What's Up Episode 15

Byung-gun sings!!!!!!!! Finally….That’s about the only happy event for this episode by the way, but boy did it bring a smile to my face!

Recap: What's Up Episode 14

Time to get your tissues people and prepare to bawl. It’s a heartrending episode with tears of the moving kind and tears of the heartbreaking kind…

Recap: What's Up Episode 10

It’s Tae-hee’s turn to shine this episode. With new characters thrown in the mix and more love lines. And it sure doesn’t hurt that the new boys joining us are pretty good looking!

Recap: What's Up Episode 9

Awesome! More character growth…from Doo-ri to Sun to Do-sung to everyone else (well, except Chae-young I might add, she’s got a long way to go…). The theme of this episode is courage – the courage to ask for help…and it’s an awesome way to tie up the first phase of the drama.

Recap: What's Up Episode 8

This drama continues to surprise me by being unpredictable and we finally get to the crux of what’s troubling our beloved Prof Sun Woo-young!

Recap: What's Up Episode 7

This episode is so intense it left me breathless half the time. I love how the teachers are the catalysts for all the emotional outbursts. All in all, this is a rather depressing episode for the most part, with many threads building slowly and closer to what could only be a catastrophic bang.

Recap: What's Up Episode 6

Another emotional episode...and my heart breaks a little more.We have our musical showdown this episode and while it was fun to watch, you get the sense that it's not really the main focus of this episode. She is the focus this episode. At least, when the episode ended, only Doo-ri is etched into my mind...*Big hugs*

Recap: What's Up Episode 5

Initially, I’m afraid of watching this episode because I’m afraid of what might happen to Jae-hun. That’s how attached I am to the characters. I feel and hurt for them. Having said that, I’m super glad I watched this because I love how the issue was resolved. Hurray for friendship. That’s more like it! Give me more……

Recap: What's Up Episode 4

Episode 3 was good so I had high hopes for this episode. There’s a conspicuous absence of any musical action while Jae-hun’s past catches up on him. However, I’m not complaining because the story had me preoccupied. Im Joo-hwan is really really good here, and I’m not saying this just because I’m a fangirl (which I am). His personal growth is a pleasure to watch and his interaction with mum moved me to tears, which is a rare occurrence, considering it’s still early stage yet for the drama. I’m definitely loving this drama more than I expected to…

Recap: What's Up Episode 3

TGIF. Finally I can watch my dramas in peace! It's so hard restraining myself and I'm watching and recapping this ahead of FBRS you know. That's how excited I am. I remember wishing for more music numbers and this episode ROCKS. Literally. LOL.

Song:
Connie Francis - Stupid Cupid
It's really catchy! (Mandy Moore sang a cover version for the soundtrack of The Princess' Diaries)

Recap: What's Up Episode 2

At the moment, cable dramas are dominating my watchlist. And I have curiously started watching AND enjoying three very different genres. FBRS is sweet like candy, VP is gripping and addictive, and WU is...well, I'm not sure how to describe it.
